STORIES FROM THE FISHING INDUSTRY IN PELICAN, ALASKA
Journal Entry 38 - (name changed, not pictured.)
CJ was coming from Mississippi, or maybe Lousianna. It was never really clear to me where she was from because she talked a lot more about where she lived for 20 years. Prison. CJ was tried as an adult when she was 17 for burglary and was given a 20 year sentence in prison. It was someone’s summer home when she was a kid in high school and her parents couldn’t afford a lawyer so she slipped into the system and stayed there longer than wherever she had come from. She told a lot of stories from prison. Most of them haunting, crude, and descriptive. She had a good hear on her shoulders, but filled that head with drugs, drugs, drugs.
